Common Rules & General Policies
Welcome to the MiHSEF Rules site.
This site contains all the official rules, schedules, and information for participating in MiHSEF competitions.
Common Rules & Policies
Anti-Cheating Policy
Any intentional use, or attempted use, by a player of any bugs, exploits, game file modification or third party applications which would give an unfair advantage in the game is strictly prohibited. MiHSEF will determine the bugs and exploits prohibited by this rule and whether a player has taken advantage of a bug or exploit in violation of this rule.
Roster & Eligibility Requirements
- Roster Size: Rosters must consist of at least the game-specific minimum players and no more than the maximum allowed.
- School Affiliation: Players are only allowed to be added to a team that was created by a coach or advisor officially representing their school.
- One Team Per Player: A player is allowed to represent only one team's roster in the same MiHSEF competition.
- Regional Restrictions: Players must be enrolled in a Michigan high school to participate.
Substitutions
- Teams may substitute players between games in a match as long as they are rostered and meet the requirements of that specific team.
- Substitutions cannot be made within individual rounds or matches mid-game in most cases (game-specific rules apply).
Score Reporting & Verification
- Timely Reporting: Scores must be reported and confirmed through LeagueOS no later than 11:59pm on the same day as the match.
- Support Documentation: Screenshot evidence of game results must accompany score reports.
- Auto-Forfeits: Scores not reported by deadline may result in automatic forfeit.
- Disputes: Contact MIHSEF officials immediately for assistance with score disputes.
Technical Issues & Stoppages
- Pauses For Technical Issues: Games may be paused up to the game-specific limit for disconnections, server crashes, or technical issues.
- Time Limits: Teams have limited combined pause time per game (typically 10 minutes total).
- Player Disconnects: Teams may restart games for disconnections before the first round/game, otherwise pauses can be used for reconnection.
- Good Faith Restarts: Non-required restarts are allowed only with exact same players and settings.
Platform & System Requirements
- Supported Platforms: See individual game manuals for specific platform requirements (PC, console, etc.)
- Account Verification: Teams may be required to verify game accounts or provide linked accounts for results verification.
- Updates: Teams are responsible for ensuring their gaming systems meet current game requirements.

- Communication: Teams must follow communication guidelines established in their league's Discord and LeagueOS chat.
- Resource Usage: All in-game items, cosmetics, and modifications are allowed except those explicitly banned by the game developer or MIHSEF.
- External Tools: Third-party applications for cheating, automation, or unfair advantage are strictly prohibited.
Match Administration

- Discord Communication: Use Discord channels for pre-match communication and LeagueOS chat for during-match coordination
