Since our inception, MiHSEF has been dedicated to building a sustainable, educator-led ecosystem for scholastic esports. Here is the journey of how we built a legacy in Michigan.

2018

The Spark

MiHSEF was idealized by a community of forward-thinking educators who recognized the growing popularity of esports and its potential to engage students in meaningful new ways outside the traditional classroom.

Founding Year

Our journey officially began with the first competitive season in Fall 2019. We launched with a clear mission: to provide a safe, high-quality, and educational platform for students.

Starting with just 160 students, the federation has grown exponentially. We've proven the educational value of esports—linking gaming to critical academic and life skills like strategic thinking and collaboration.
