Competition

Game Essentials

Platforms: PC, Xbox, Playstation, Nintendo Switch (Cross-Platform)

Team Size: 2v2 configuration

Game Duration: Single competitive matchup

Match Structure: Best of 5 games - first to win 3 games

Players

Roster & Eligibility

Team Size: 2-4 players (more strongly advised)

Single Representation: Players may represent only one team's roster per MiHSEF competition

Official Registration: Teams must be created and fully rostered in Fenworks system

Account Linking: Players must have their accounts linked by the roster lock date or will be ineligible until it is linked. They must link their account they will be playing on the platform they play on (Xbox Live, Epic, Steam etc.)

Substitution Rules

Players may be substituted between complete games (not during active gameplay) as long as they are officially rostered on the team.

Player Requirements

Minimum Competition Level: Teams must provide minimum of 2 players for all match games

Forfeit Conditions: If unable to field required players, match will be forfeited

Good Faith Play: Teams may agree to alternative completion and results counting

Pre-Match Setup

Lobby Administration

Team Responsibility: Higher seeded team creates lobby and invites opposing captain

Visual Identity: Lower seeded team selects team colors (persistent throughout entire match)

Tournament Compliance: All subsequent settings mandatory for official competition

Required Game Configuration

Core Settings:

  • Game Mode: Soccar
  • Arena: DFH Stadium (or mutually agreed alternative)
  • Team Size: 2v2
  • Bot Difficulty: No Bots

Identity Settings:

  • Team Names: Official Fenworks rostered names
  • Colors: Primary and accent set to default values

Gameplay

Map Selection

Default Arena: DFH Stadium (required for all games)
Alternative Maps: Only by mutual agreement between teams

Mercy Rule (7+ Goal Lead w/ 2 Minutes Remaining)

Trigger: Team leading by 7+ goals with ≤2 minutes remaining
Process: Down team initiates request → Both teams must approve
Result: Immediate game end with higher score declared winner
Restriction: Lead team may NOT decline approved mercy requests

Stoppage of Play

Player Disconnects

Early Disconnect (less than 60 sec or before first goal): Restart available by request (must agree) Late Disconnect (after first goal or more than 60 sec): Player may rejoin but no match restart/pause

Technical Issues & Errors

Incorrect Lobby Setup: Stop and reset match - completed games stand
Settings Errors: Teams fix issues before next game start

Good Faith Restarts

Allowed for sportsmanship | Must use same players & body styles
Note: Round/game restarts not permitted after completion

Restrictions

Permitted Cosmetics

All body styles, decals, paint finishes, wheels, rocket boosts, toppers, antennas, goal explosions, trails, and engine audios are allowed except those banned in official Rocket League tournaments.

Cosmetic Changes: May swap between games, but not during active games.

Anti-Cheating Measures

Scripting Prohibited: Any programmed vehicles or scripting = investigation + season suspension + Psyonix notification

Exploits/Bugs/Hacks: Any unfair advantage tools strictly prohibited. MiHSEF determines violations and enforcement.

Position Resets: Players may NOT leave team and rejoin to reposition - game forfeit for cheating.

Disconnect Penalties

Multiple Disconnects: Player unable to continue game after more than one disconnect per match.

Cheating Classification: Position reset attempts count as cheating offenses.

Playoff Structure

Playoff Format

Teams: 16 teams
Format: Double elimination
Championship Match: Best of 7 (first to win 4 games)

All restrictions and gameplay rules from the regular season apply to playoffs.
